This easy to access Island is opposite Oban and a few hours drive from Glasgow Airport, in 2007 woodcock numbers were at an all time high and some excellent bags were had consistently its walked up only here and springer's are the main work dogs used by the keeper on the estate/ we can arrange pointers at an extra cost if required accommodation is comfortable and the food is excellent in the local hotel which has fantastic views. Best time of Season: November - January.
Expect 40-60 birds lifted per day with if good shots you will bag 20-25 a day in general, there is duck flighting at extra cost per day of £50 per gun per flight and also if you wish evening woodcock flighting price's are the same.
Cost per gun including accommodation £285.00 per gun and a minimum of 4 guns and a maximum of 8, own dogs are welcomed if you wish. Cost for guides dogs are £5.00 per dog per day, we can collect you from the small airport and flights are readily available from Glasgow see information attached below.
Travelling to Mull
By Car
From Glasgow M8, take the M898 across Erskin Bridge then follow the A82 towards Crainlarich. Keep following the A82 onto Taynuilt (and Oban) until you reach a sign to the LEFT for A85 to Oban. Upon reaching Oban, follow signs for the town centre, then for the Caledonian MacBrayne Ferry terminal. If you are visiting Mull between April and October it is advisable to pre-book your ferry both ways, in advance. If you need to change your reservation to an earlier or later ferry they are flexible and allow changes at no extra charge (subject to availability). Here are no scheduled flights directly to the Isle of Mull, the nearest airport being Glasgow Airport. There are other airports; however, public transport links to the Isle of Mull are better from Glasgow.
Private plane owners, can fly to Glenforsa airfield on the island itself. The Glenforsa airfield on the Isle of Mull is situated on the north of the island, near Salen. Both Oban and Mull airfields are run by qualified enthusiasts who are keen to develop and improve facilities. Help is freely given.
